Team Building with Chocolate — Corporate Events & Company Outings in Mijas

Most team building activities have the same problem: half the team loves it, the other half endures it. Escape rooms, paintball, trust falls — they work for some personalities, but not others. The best team activities are the ones where everyone gets involved without anyone feeling uncomfortable.

Making chocolate together hits that sweet spot. It's hands-on, creative, genuinely enjoyable, and produces something tangible — boxes of professional-quality chocolates branded with your company logo that the team designed, made, and packaged together.

How Corporate Chocolate Team Building Works

At Mayan Monkey in Mijas Pueblo, we design team building sessions around collaboration, not competition. Here's the format:

Phase 1: Learn the Craft

Your team learns professional chocolatier techniques — tempering, moulding, filling, and decorating. Everyone works at their own station, guided step by step. No experience needed. Within 15 minutes, people who've never touched tempered chocolate are creating bonbons that look like they came from a boutique.

Phase 2: Create Together

This is where the team building happens. Groups work together to create a collection of chocolates — bars, bonbons, truffles, or decorated pieces. Each team member contributes their creations to a shared box. The collaboration is natural: someone's great at piping, someone else has a steady hand for decoration, someone organises the layout. Roles emerge organically.

Phase 3: Brand & Package

Here's what makes it unique for corporates: the team designs and assembles branded packaging for their chocolate boxes. We provide the materials and templates — your team creates the presentation. The final product is a professional box of handmade chocolates with your company branding, assembled collaboratively by the team.

These aren't throwaway workshop souvenirs. They're genuine, high-quality chocolate products that people are proud to take home, give as gifts, or display on their desk.

Workshop Options for Teams

Bonbons & Bars (40 min, from €34/person)

Our most efficient team format. Professional bonbon techniques — casing, piping, sealing — plus decorated bars. Quick enough to fit into a busy schedule, substantial enough to feel like a real experience. Ideal for larger teams or when the workshop is part of a bigger day out.

Classic Chocolatiers (1h 10min, from €49.95/person)

The full experience — chocolate-dipped fruits, hot chocolate sticks, truffles, bonbons, and deco bars. More variety means more opportunities for collaboration and more impressive final boxes. This is our most popular corporate option.

The MMM Masterclass (2h, from €135/person)

The premium choice for executive teams or smaller groups who want depth. Includes a bean-to-cup journey (roasting raw cacao), advanced bonbon techniques, and a wine and chocolate pairing. The pairing session doubles as a relaxed networking opportunity. For ages 12+ only.

Why Companies Choose This Over Traditional Team Building

• Universal appeal: Everyone eats chocolate. Nobody feels excluded or anxious. Introverts and extroverts engage equally.
• Tangible outcome: The team creates something real — branded boxes of professional chocolates. It's not just a memory; it's a product they collaborated on.
• Natural collaboration: No forced icebreakers or artificial challenges. The teamwork emerges from the activity itself — dividing tasks, sharing ideas, solving problems together.
• Inclusive: No physical fitness required. No competitive element that creates winners and losers. Suitable for all ages and abilities.
• Memorable: People talk about this one. It's not another PowerPoint or ropes course — it's genuinely different, and the chocolate they take home keeps the memory alive.

The Branded Chocolate Box

For corporate groups, the branded packaging element transforms the workshop from "fun activity" to "meaningful team project". The team works together to:

• Create the chocolates themselves (bars, bonbons, truffles)
• Design the box layout and presentation
• Assemble the packaging with company branding
• Quality-check each other's work
• Present their final product

The result: every team member leaves with a professionally presented box of handmade chocolates bearing the company logo. Many companies use these as client gifts, event giveaways, or simply as a shared achievement the team can be proud of.
